Obsidian

Konoha.

He looked at the town thoughtfully - the town he had left for a power-hungry snake (being power-hungry himself) whom he left out of disappointment that this man - creature - who was supposed to give him power was weaker than that he was supposed to kill. It was very disappointing and for a long time, he was left with nothing and nowhere to begin with. He had lost everything - again.

Konoha.

And now he was back. It was ironic that in this town where he grew, where everything started and ended was where it was going to begin again. He had returned but he wasn't sure if he was welcome.

Nonsense.

He would be welcome. Even if the entirety of Konoha looked at him with shunning eyes and acted upon him with detesting gestures, still, he would have a place. He would have a home... because they would welcome her.
Kakashi-sensei. Naruto.

"Sakura." The name barely escaped his lips and to him, the wind suddenly became gentler. She had always been there and she always will be. He felt no need for him to reassure himself. Sakura - that pink-haired, green-eyed only female member of Team Seven - would be so happy to see him. And she would squeal, "Sasuke-kun, I'm so glad you've returned to me."

Sakura.

"Sakura?" he barely said, eyeing the now empty room that used to be hers. He was crouching with chakra-attached feet on the window from where he peeked. The curtains were gone. The room was bare. The bed had no cover and the pillows weren't there. Sasuke eyed the emptiness in wonder. It was empty. Sakura's room, in the rare occasions he had been in it, had never been this empty... and sad.

"Naruto." Sasuke said again and he disappeared in a flash. Her family did not move. He could hear her mother and sibling from inside the house. Maybe Sakura had her own home now - an apartment for a young lady, apprentice to the Godaime. Or maybe she was living in the Hokage tower now. Whichever the case, Naruto knows.

Naruto must know.

"What do you mean you don't know!" Sasuke almost yelled and cleared his throat, realizing the close outburst he had given Naruto. Sasuke looked at the Kyuubi vessel and was careful not to stand out. He wore a robe and a wide straw hat and walked with a watchful eye. He managed to find Naruto in where else but Ichiraku having his ramen. The Uchiha had to hush him, cover up his mouth to muffle the noise he was sure to make. Naruto was so happy to see him... so happy that he treated Sasuke to a special ramen order.

"Sakura... Sakura is no longer Konoha-nin anymore." Naruto said lowly, in one of the most serious faces Sasuke ever saw him in. He had stopped eating his ramen and was looking thoughtfully at the noodle bowl.
"She's a nukenin. A missing nin now... Just like you." Naruto murmured. Sasuke felt his shoulders heavy and his encounter with Sakura that night before he left Konoha came back to him.

Sasuke-kun, I love you!

"And it wasn't because she wanted to find you, Sasuke."
"Na...Nani?"
