+ Art of the Phoenix Flower : Phase Ten +

Gripped by loneliness from the shadows
I cry in a place that no one knows
Curled in a quiet corner
I find sanctuary where there's no laughter

A broken mask still on my face
Trying to decieve the eyes that know
Darkness in the middle of the day
I lay motionless in a sadness that grows

I try to hide but still I'm found
I continue to run with my feet still bound
I weep dry tears of crying laughter
After all this time, what am I after?

The darkness has eaten the fire I made
And in the light of shadows I bathe
I look behind me where emptiness lay
I don't know why I have to stay

+ This Is What Shmarvin Means To Me.. +

Before anything else, this is not a poem. It is not an essay either and I don't think it's a song... What is it? Well... It's the location of the newly-bred flowers that are result of a cross-pollination between a sunflower and a donkey. Yep. For short, I have no idea.

--------------

This is what Shmarvin means to me...

Okay, so I've been thinking of a good intro only to come up with none. *Grunt* Oh, wait, I've got THIS intro. Great. This helps like SO much. *scratches head*

Get ready for crap whose credits go to me! Yeah, I'm so evil.

So what does Shmarvin mean to me?

Shmarvin is a word that rhymes with fin
A friend of mine not out of a whim
The history is quite perplexingly simple
So listen to get the hang of it all

It started years ago around two or three
In a little group from Chemistry
Mixing and tapping and writing and solving
Where does he come in...?

Wait a sec, I'm getting to that.

Playing stuff like Counter Strike
And RPG's like Ragnarok Online
I guess it was a start though not quite
But where does he come in?

I told you, I'm getting to that.

A hack-delete victim of an online game
And he thought it was a bug to blame
Three days did he wait for it to be mended
But even after that, his gaming never ended.

Don't say a word. I'm getting to the point.

Online and On LAN he's never tired
Unless, of course, the budget's in a bind
The computer's an unquestioning friend
But of course not as good as --- *ahem,ahem!*

Races of Accretia, Bellato and Cora
Tomahawks, Spins, Curves and a Cobra
Neji, Sasuke, Naruto, Gaara
Oh, and those other guys from DotA

He grows a year older on this special day
You're twenty, man. Let's go celebrate!
We wish you luck and power and glory
And world domination plus loads of zeny!

MUAHAHAHAHAHA!! *ahem*

So look at the banner! It spells your name!
Streamers and greetings on this special day
Oh, and, well... Firepower's down
So the gifts were off the list for now

September eight two thousand and six
Another year is tossed to the mix
So toss and tumble. Get set for a new life
Hang on and buckle up, you're in for a ride!

Happy Birthday, Shmarvin!

Yeah, it's nice that you're turning 20 and all but our stomachs really don't feel the vibe, man. You know what I mean.

(Told you, I'd get to the point.)

+ SasuSaku Fics +

Finally, after a long time, I am able to put up my SasuSaku fics... Well, some of them at least. Leave a comment. Criticisms welcome for as long as they're mature. Flames like "Sasuke should die because I hate him!" are considered unacceptable for this situation. Anyway, hope you like 'em!

Oh, and I suck at short summaries.

  • Either You Admit it Or...

  • Gah! Sakura's been seeing Neji! Help!

  • Sasuke's First Kiss

  • Will the youngest and probably only Uchiha heir and greatest heart throb of Konoha get his first kiss? Don't let the title fool you.

  • The Dating Game

  • The Godaime's hosting a Dating Game featuring her prodigy, Haruno Sakura. There are three men: Rock Lee, Uchiha Sasuke and... Uchiha Itachi!?

  • Onyx Eyes

  • Sasuke had left Konoha for Orochimaru. And now he's leaving again but for Itachi this time.

+ Onyx Eyes +

The sun was down and no one was around except him and her. Nothing was to be heard and neither of them were speaking. He was looking at her with his emotionless onyx eyes as she tried reasoning with her own green ones. But it was in vain. She had seen - had been in - this scenery before... That day when he left Konoha for Otto to become a missing nin. And now it was repeating and she was afraid it would be the same only this time, he might not return to her anymore.

He took one step forward and she blocked him. Sasuke looked at her apathetically and said, "Out of my way, Sakura."

"No... Sasuke..." she said trembling.
"Sakura." His tone was more serious.
"Sasuke, no... I..." Sakura gulped in attempt to hold back her tears, "I won't let you go to Itachi."

Sasuke grunted and gestured to grab her when Sakura pulled out a kunai. Sasuke stopped and looked at her with baffled eyes.

"You're... not leaving..." Sakura was half-sobbing, "... Not leaving without me..."
"Stop talking garbage." Sasuke straightened, "You will only get in my way."

"Sasuke, please...! If you won't stay then take me with you...!" Sakura broke into shimmering tears that, gripping the kunai, "We've been through this before and I'm not letting you out on this without me!"

Sasuke grunted at the image of a pink-haired girl shaking before him. She was crying. She was feeble. But she was Tsunade's prodigy - a superb medical expert with Tsunade's strength. So the avenger sighed and straightened and said lowly, "Start walking."

Sakura gasped and processed the short statement in her head as Sasuke walked past her. Although Sasuke did not back from his intention on hunting down Itachi, he allowed her to come with him. That was a good start. Sakura put back the kunai and turned to follow him.

~*~

Faster.

Sakura and Sasuke had been dashing among the trees for how long now. She was not tired but she was getting a little uncomfortable with the silence that had been building up between them. She should be used to him giving her this treatment since their genin days but after he returned to Konoha, he changed though but slightly. The whole of Konoha did not trust him anymore except for her, Naruto, Kakashi-sensei and the Godaime Tsunade. And because he had nothing much to do, he spent time training, developing new skills, strategies and such things. Undoubtedly, Sasuke became stronger much to many Konoha nin's fear and jealousy.

It was one day when she found him on the rooftop of the Hokage tower did she love him more dearly. He was alone and strangely enough, when she started speaking, he spoke back. And later on, they were talking to each other longer than they had in any of their days. It was not a happy conversation but rather an ordinary one but Sakura knew it was a good start. And when all of that was over, something very different happened...
Uchiha Sasuke smiled at her.

Sakura's heart skipped a beat whenever she remembered that short moment. She felt warm and happy deep inside. Sasuke did not change much after that and he didn't smile at her again either but she hoped that he would eventually... when everything turns out to be fine.

But just as everyone was beginning to accept the young Uchiha, something unexpected happened. Uchiha Itachi showed himself again with Kisame in another attempt to extract the Kyuubi out of Naruto. Sasuke was out on a mission that day Itachi came but nevertheless, they fought... She fought. Sakura. And the Godaime, Naruto, Kakashi-sensei, Gai-sensei, Lee, Neji, Hinata, Ino, Shikamaru... All of them. Itachi retreated but he was sure to be back and since the event held such magnitude, there was no way they could keep it from Sasuke.

She could still remember how his eyes reverted in seriousness when he heard of Itachi but he didn't speak. And yet, all Sakura had to do was look into his eyes to know that he was planning on something... To hunt down Uchiha Itachi. She had kept a keen eye on him since and then it happened. She caught him... yet again... fleeing from Konoha in pursuit of his vengeance. And she was afraid that this time, he might not make it back.

"Sakura." His voice shot through her thoughts and he said, "Let's stop." And even before she could reply, they came to a pause by a river where they caught fish and cooked it over a fire Sasuke made. It was getting dark and Sakura had lately noticed. And when she was able to relax, it was only then, too, that she realized how tired her body was. Sasuke probably noticed this, too, and suggested they get rest since they start off early the next day. They lay down in their bedrolls, the fire out and silence between them. Sakura was looking at him although she could only see his back.

"Sasuke." Sakura said lowly. He did not answer. It was fine since Sakura did not expect him to respond so she continued, "What are you going to do after you've killed Itachi?"

There was a long pause and Uchiha Sasuke answered, "Return to Konoha..."

"Oh..." Sakura muttered. She was expecting him to add nothing more but then he moved and shifted to his other side and faced her. His black onyx eyes that shimmered so mysteriously stunned her and with this expression, he replied, "... To restore my clan."

"O-oh..." Sakura replied in muffled speech as Sasuke looked into her emerald green eyes. She had never been this close to Sasuke before. Sakura groped for anything to say but even before a word escaped her lips, Sasuke shifted back to his other side and said, "Go to sleep. We start early tomorrow."

"Oyasumi nasai, Sasuke-kun..." Sakura muttered and closed her eyes. Her thoughts drifted away into sleep then Sasuke whispered, "Oyasumi."

~*~

"Sakura, wake up." It was a command, not a request and the tone of it made Sakura's eyes snap open. Sasuke was with a kunai, his eyes red as he looked cautiously around. This stature of him was enough to tell her something was wrong. Sakura drew out a kunai and looked around. There was a rustling sound from the forest and from there emerged a shadow but even before Sakura could see who it was, Sasuke's hand came over her face as he said, "Don't look into his eyes."

Sakura's heart thumped and she felt cold sweat trickle down her back. Why would Sasuke tell her not to look into certain eyes? It was Uchiha Itachi's, who else's?

"Foolish and careless as always." Itachi spoke calmly, lowly, mockingly. Sasuke growled at him and told Sakura, "Do not interfere."

Sasuke lunged at Itachi with a kunai, which Itachi dodged effortlessly. Sasuke threw the kunai at the older brother and sent him a kick. Itachi caught the attack with his hands and twisted Sasuke's leg. It wasn't long before the little brother turned into a log and behind Itachi was Sasuke, shooting fireballs out of his mouth.
Sakura watched on as, as if in a split second, Itachi was behind Sasuke and chopped him at the back of the head. Sasuke tried enduring until Itachi sent a knee to his midsection before an elbow to his back. Sasuke hit the ground hard and he coughed blood.

"Not... Into his... eyes..." Sasuke coughed.

Itachi then looked at Sakura and she froze, avoiding his eyes. Then Itachi stooped and picked Sasuke up by the neck and said, "You never give up. I like that. But it seems you need more motivation." Itachi's eyes widened and the Sharingan tomoe swirled.

"Sasuke!" Sakura shouted and dashed an attack towards Itachi. The older Uchiha looked at the approaching ninja girl. His body language made it clear he had no intention of dodging or counterattacking. And then, all of a sudden, a hand caught her by the neck.

Sakura gasped for air as her vision moved unstably. She recollected herself and found Itachi standing nearby. And to her right was her attacker - Uchiha Sasuke.

"But... But why...?" Sakura managed to say, sending him a questioning look of confusion. But Sasuke looked surprised himself as she could see her reflection in his wide, crimson eyes.
"You underestimated the Mangekyou - the Sharingan - and forgot it's ability to 'suggest' courses of action into the mind of its opponent." Itachi said flatly.

Itachi was controlling Sasuke's body!

"If the death of the entire clan was not enough to fuel your anger to make you stronger..." Itachi said with no change in tone, "Perhaps the death of this girl by your hands will be."

Sakura gasped in horror and the fingers on her neck tightened. Tears formed in her eyes. Sakura lifted her kunai with every ounce of strength and wounded Sasuke's arm in attempt to inflict pain to break the genjutsu but it was in vain. The Mangekyou holds its reins strong on Sasuke. Sasuke struggled from the force controlling him. And in this image of him, visions flashed and voices echoed in her head but only a few did she understand.

You... are annoying.

"Sa...suke..." Saying his name took more physical effort than it should.

Thank you... Sakura...

"Sasu... ke..." But that same name that escaped from her lips gave her strength to carry on even just a little more farther.

Return to Konoha...

"I..." A little more time to see his face.

...To restore my clan.

A little more time to hope.

"SAKURAAAAAAAAA!"

A heart-splitting cry followed by the loosening of the fingers around her neck returned Sakura to reality. Her vision swayed in disarray and she felt herself hit the ground. With every ounce of strength, she pushed herself up and as she looked, she saw Sasuke's body falling backwards towards her...
And she caught him... like how she always does. And as she set sight on him, the tears streamed from her eyes.

There was a kunai lodged in his chest.

In order to break the genjutsu, he stabbed his heart in the short moment he was able to fight it!

"SASUKE!"

His mind, under the influence of Mangekyou, was shutting down his system and Sakura's medical abilities could do nothing. And she cried.

Failed him. Failed him yet again. She was not able to stop him from leaving Konoha the first time. Orochimaru had him, coiled around him and fanged at him with every ounce of venom that could seep into his mind. Second time, she was powerless to stop him. No, she did not stop him. Instead, she decided to play bamboo and go with what he wanted, went with him for the sake of being with him... as if she could protect him from whatever it is that was bound to happen.

And as those black onyx eyes looked at her, with blood on his lips, Uchiha Sasuke did something Haruno Sakura cried at.

Uchiha Sasuke smiled at her.

"Pity." Itachi spoke, suddenly standing right in front of her.
"BASTAAAAAAAAAARD!" Sakura retaliated in anger. Itachi jumped back in defiance to the attack. He stood before repeating, "Pity."

~*~

The sun was down. Tsunade looked out into the darkening sky.

Today was the last day.

The cold wind blew into her office. She sighed, stood and closed the windows. And as she walked back towards her desk, there were three knocks on the door.

"Come in."

A blond spiky-haired young man's face came from behind the opening door with a creak. Tsunade reached her desk but she did not sit. Naruto entered followed by Kiba and Shikamaru.

"Did you find them?" Tsunade asked. Shikamaru shook his head.

Tsunade sighed, hesitating a moment before pulling out folders and a stamp from her drawer. She opened the folders and pressed the stamp on the ink but as she lifted her hand, Naruto's voice shot through the room, "No! I refuse to believe this!" And he barged out of the room running.

Tsunade said nothing and pressed the stamp on the papers before gesturing at Shikamaru to leave. The Godaime sighed, looking at the papers with the picture and biodata of an Uchiha and a Haruno who, as the stamp signifies, are MIA.

MIA. Missing in Action.

But in other terms: "Assumed Dead".

+ The Dating Game +

"I'm nervous!" Lee's knees were shaking and Gai noted that. He looked at his student all shaky and sweaty so he put his hands on Lee's shoulders and said, "Lee, there's nothing you can't do if you put your mind and heart into it. It's the power of youth!"

"Sir Gai!" Lee's eyes brimmed with tears.
"Lee!" Gai burst out and they hugged.

"I... am... keeping... my... eye on you... ITACHI!" Sasuke was gritting his teeth, wanting to sink his fists into his brother's face. He had been holding himself back for hours already.

Itachi said nothing and he looked away, ignoring Sasuke. The Uchiha boy fumed in anger, aiming a Chidori at Itachi but decided not to. This was a dating game, for crying out loud! What was Itachi doing here! Lee was here because he wanted to date Sakura. Sasuke was here because he heard Itachi was here. But why the hell was Itachi here!

The studio crew then announced that the game will soon be starting and led them into three cubicles. Sasuke was glaring at Itachi who was still ignoring him.

The studio lights opened up and Sasuke blinked. The speakers boomed in sound and the audience cheered as the dating game kicked off with an introduction from the host, the Godaime Tsunade.

"Ladies and gentlemen, we are here to find a suitable dating partner for my young student, Haruno Sakura!" Tsunade announced. Sakura stood up and bowed. The audience clapped.
"Let's meet our searchees!" Tsunade said again and a spotlight hailed over cubicle number 1.

"Behind door number 1 is a guy nicknamed as Mr. Right!"
"He... He... Hello..." said Mr. Right.

"LET'S GO, LEE!! SHOW THEM THE POWER OF YOUTH!!" Gai was waving a banner from the audience. So much for secret identity.

"Behind door number 2 is a guy nicknamed... Itachi??" Tsunade blinked.
"GO GET 'EM ITACHIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!" Kisame shouted from the audience, waving a banner as large as Gai's. The Taijutsu expert glared at the shark-like being with other Akatsuki members behind him.

"And behind door number 3 is a guy nicknamed 'I am keeping my eye on Itachi'..........." Tsunade blinked, breathed in and whispered to Shizune backstage, "Where did these freaking candidates get their names!?" Shizune shrugged.

"You can do it, SASUKE-TEMEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" Naruto yelled with his face painted red. Ino was sitting beside Shikamaru and Kiba was yelling with Chouji.
"Sasuke will do well." Kakashi muttered.

"I agree that the Uchiha boy has the looks but my Lee has what it takes... The burst of youth!" Gai shouted, waterfall of tears springing from his eyes and when he was satisfied with himself, he looked triumphantly at Kakashi who was busily reading "Come, Come Paradise."

"You were saying something, Gai??"

"Okay, searchees, here is your first question..." Sakura's voice drew attention, "In what word would you describe yourself."
"Y-Y-Y-Youth." said Lee.
"Power." said Itachi.
"Crap, Itachi, that's all you think about!" Sasuke yelled from behind door number 3.
"Excuse me, Mr. I-am-keeping-my-eye-on-Itachi, that's seven words." Tsunade reminded.
"I know that!"
"Again, describe yourself in one word." Tsunade said again.

"Avenger." Sasuke said coolly.

"You don't have the same eyes as mine." Itachi mumbled to Sasuke.
"Who wants your crappy eyes! They make people go blind!" Sasuke muttered back.

"If you could take me on a date..." Sakura began again, "Where would you take me?"

"I... I... would take you to the most romantic place I can think of and there we will spend the entire evening from candlelit dinner to star gazing." Lee managed to say. There were murmurs from the audience.

"Mr... Uh... Searchee Number 2?" Sakura asked. There was no answer.
"Uh... Mr... Mr. Itachi??" Sakura asked again.

"Oh, I am sorry. I was too busy recalling the way my crybaby little brother looked the day I put an end to the Uchiha clan. MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" There was a response of loud laughter from the Akatsuki group in the audience.

"Pardon. What was the question, lovely Sakura?" Itachi asked.
"Don't do the sweet talk on her, Itachi!" Sasuke yelled from his cubicle.
"Mr. I-am-keeping-my-eye-on-Itachi, it's not your turn yet." Tsunade interrupted, "Anyway, where will you take Haruno Sakura on your first date, Mr... Mr. Itachi."

"Take you where?" Itachi muttered and laughed lowly, "I'll take you where you'll want to go... to where the satisfaction of the heart lies... To where red is vibrant... To a place where we can be together... All alone..."

"BASTARD ITACHI!!!" Sasuke burst out and his cubicle began to shake violently, "Just you wait when I get my hands on you!"
"Mr. I-am-keeping-my-eye-on-Itachi, it's your turn." Tsunade said annoyingly.
"I don't care where we go for as long as we're together, we'll be fine. That's all we need." Sasuke replied and grinned to himself.

"THAT'S OUR SASUKE!!!" Naruto formed hundreds of bunshins that began cheering for Sasuke. Gai was still waving his banner for Lee and the Akatsuki members were humming Itachi's name.

"Third question." Sakura said again, "What's the sexiest part of you?"

"My hair... AND MY EYEBROWS!" Lee said with his eyes lighting up, "I am proud of my eyebrows!"

"My eyes, definitely." Itachi muttered half-laughing, "Since some kid here can't have the same eyes as mine."
"Well, I love my eyes, too!" Sasuke grunted, "At least I'm not going blind!"
"Excuse me..." Tsunade finally asked, "But why did you join this dating game?"
"I... I... I... I..." Lee stuttered, "... Want to go out... With Sakura-chan!"
"GO LEE!!" Gai was screaming at the top of his lungs.
"I need a bride to restore my clan." Itachi said.

There was a great roar of "WHAAAAAAAAAAAAT!" from the audience, loudest from the Akatsuki group. From there began murmurs and mouths flinging wide open. The Akatsuki members were dumbstruck but before anyone could say anything, the third cubicle burst into shreds and out came Uchiha Sasuke in flaming anger.

"I... TA... CHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!" Sasuke roared and tore apart Itachi's cubicle before he shot fire from his mouth that Itachi dodged.

"I don't believe you! Tell us why you really want to win a date with Sakura-chan!" Sasuke accused Itachi, pointing at him frantically, "You're off to some scheme again, aren't you! There's another level to the Sharingan, isn't there! Why are you after a date with Sakura-chan! WE WANT THE TRUTH!!"

"Because I want to torture you." Itachi replied nonchalantly.
"Wha... WHAT!" Sasuke gritted his teeth.

"You are verrrrrry slow when it comes to girls, Sasuke." Itachi added, "I know you like this girl and if stealing her from you will make you even angrier then so be it!"

"Itachi, I'm going to.........!"

"Or are you afraid to admit to the world that you have a big silly crush on Haruno Sakura!" Itachi pointed to the pink-haired blushing girl sitting on the stool.

There was a loud jeering from the audience and Sasuke felt awkward. If there were a right time to kill Itachi, it would be now.

"Sasuke-kun, is that true???" Sakura muttered, bumping her index fingers together and looking away bashfully.
Sasuke gulped. Itachi was a pain in the neck. A pain in the neck... A total pain in the neck!

"I AM AN AVENGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEER!" Sasuke yelled and lunged with a kunai at Itachi. The older Uchiha got out of the way and chopped Sasuke from behind. The little brother fumbled forward and lost his balance before Itachi launched him with a kick.

"Sasuke, I am much, much, MUCH prettier than you are." Itachi muttered to Sasuke.
"GRAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!" Sasuke somersaulted in mid-air and landed behind Itachi, "That's not true! I'M the cute one! The cute, adorable one!!"

"No, you're not."
"Yes, I am!"
"Are not!"
"Am to!"
"ARE NOT!"
"AM TO!"

"Fine then, let's allow Sakura to decide!" Itachi finally said and all eyes turned to Sakura. There was a sudden hush.

Me, Sakura! ME! ME! MEEEEEEEE!! Sasuke's inner self was waving its hands wildly.

"I... uh... I..." Sakura muttered, her eyes getting shifty to avoid Sasuke's stare, "I..."
There were verious responses from the audience. Some were chanting "Sasuke" and others "Itachi"... But there was a loud voice shouting, "LEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"

"Don't be afraid to tell the truth, Sakura-chan..." Itachi began walking towards Sakura, "Tell him." Itachi took her hands and stared at her with his red eyes, "Tell him it's me."

Sasuke blinked at Itachi. Sakura was staring at him almost lovingly. Had he lost Sakura to Itachi? Then it dawned on him, "ITACHI, YOU BASTARD! DON'T USE THE MANGEKYOU ON HEEEEEERRRRRRRRR!!" Then Sasuke kicked off from the ground and tackled Itachi. Sakura gasped, snapping out of her short trance, finding Sasuke choking Itachi on the floor.

"Cheater, cheater, cheater!" Sasuke yelled at his older brother, "I won't lose to you! NOT EVER AGAIN!!"

Then Sasuke leapt off his brother and ran towards Sakura saying, "Sakura-chan, let's call this a night!" And before anyone could say anything else, Sasuke pulled her by the waist and kissed her firmly. The audience cheered and jeered. It was then that Sasuke realized what he had done. The moment he released Sakura, she fainted.

"Sasuke and Sakura under a tree! K-I-S-S-I-N-G!" The audience chanted, "H-I-J-K-L-M-N-O-P!!"
"Oh, snap." Sasuke muttered as he turned red.
"Huh?" Lee popped out of his cubicle, "What's going on?? Did I miss anything?"

~*~

"Sasuke-kun, hurry!" Sakura sat on the couch and turned on the TV with the remote, "There's the opening!"
"I don't want to watch..." Sasuke crawled beside her and covered his head with a small pillow.
"Shh! It's starting!"

The whole of Konohagakure watched the Dating Game where Sasuke went berserk. And with that, the whole of Konohagakure knows that Uchiha Sasuke kissed Haruno Sakura and that he actually had a big crush on her. It was the worst Dating Game episode but it was definitely the most memorable one.

+ Sasuke's First Kiss +

There she was. Her hair was flowing freely in the wind as she stood on the balcony perpendicular to his sight. It must smell so good. The scent of her... The sight of her... The feeling of her by his side...

Sakura...

Sasuke permitted himself a short sigh. He was sitting on a roof that allowed him to look dreamily at Haruno Sakura as she spoke with her best friend Yamanaka Ino. He and Sakura had both been on Team 7 and have spent all missions together however, in that time, he had not been able to express his feelings for her in any way. She had feelings for him. He knew. But he didn't want other people to think that he was taking advantage of it and he had barely an idea on how to start things off without anyone getting the wrong idea. He had dreamt of touching her, being with her, holding her, taking her in his arms and drawing her close until he could...

"SASUKE-TEME!" A voice yapped from behind him.
"Naruto." He said, annoyed by the sudden cut-off of his day-dream. Sasuke shifted his glance away from Sakura before this loud-mouthed urchin could notice.
"Why were you staring at Sakura-chan?"

Sasuke released a small gasp. So much for trying.

"I wasn't." He said, reverting back to his usual self.

"Ne, Sasuke-kun..." Naruto began sheepishly, crossing his arms and legs as he sat beside Sasuke. His sudden lack of enthusiasm to insist upon his inquisition or comment on it made Sasuke wonder. But he didn't bother saying anything about it, making it a silent gesture as if to say, "Go on."

"Have you... ever..." Naruto was shifting glances for one side to another, "... Kissed... a girl?"
Sasuke looked at Naruto with wide open his and this image of him represented a loud outburst of, "WHAAAAAAAAAT!" Getting the message, Naruto continued, "You see, Hinata-chan and I..."

He kissed Hinata?

Naruto stopped and looked at Sasuke who was staring at him with the wide open eyes he had on his face earlier. Naruto bit his lip and uttered a low sound that told Sasuke he didn't want to elaborate further. Sasuke's shoulders dropped slowly with his lower jaw before finally sighing. He seemed to have himself back but his thoughts were going wild, thinking how Naruto have gotten his first kiss before he did. He was the handsome one, the charming one, the popular one... and yet... he hadn't kissed the girl he liked who was only interested in him as well. Sasuke wanted to slap his forehead.

"I didn't know... if she liked it..." Naruto continued.

But Sasuke was barely listening. Sakura... Would she ever like it if he kissed her? Maybe so. She would love it. But he did't want to take advantage of her... So how?

"You see... I... kind of... held her by the shoulders..."

Hold her by the shoulders, yes. And then draw her close...

"Then I drew her close..."

And then feel her there...

"And, man, I just felt her there."

Then look into her eyes and say...

"Then I looked into her eyes... Before I said..."

I love you.

"I love you." Sasuke spat out, his eyes suspended on Sakura still talking with Ino on the balcony.
"Eh? How do you know that's what happened?" Naruto asked dumbly, an eyebrow raised and Sasuke gasped, taking his glance from Sakura to somewhere else.
"Predictable." he said, going back to cold Sasuke mode.

"Anyway... Sasuke-teme... You're handsome, charming and popular..." Naruto began, playing with his fingers, "I know you've set your mind on restoring your clan... And... That you wanna kill your oniichan and all but... Maybe... You've..."

No, don't say it. Don't say it, please.

"Perhaps you've kissed a girl and know if she liked it..."

"Yes, yes, yes and no, no!" Sasuke began speaking abruptly, one word quickly after the other, his voice raised and his arms making wild gestures "Yes, I'm what you said. Yes, I want to restore my clan. Yes, I want to kill Itachi. But NO! No, I haven't kissed anyone and no, I don't know how to tell if a girl liked it!"

By the time Sasuke was done, Naruto's jaw had fallen in surprise. It was the first time Sasuke freaked out like he did outside a mission or a battlefield. Sasuke saw the look on Naruto's face and he forced his body to relax and tried to get hold of himself again though he was so upset that Naruto had kissed Hinata while he hadn't come close to being intimate with Sakura.

"But Sasuke-teme..." Naruto began saying in a daze, "... It's not right for you to not have kissed the girl you like."
"Yeah, I'd love kissing her, too..." Sasuke spat out lowly being in a deeper daze that made Naruto gasp and say, "Nani, Sasuke-teme?"
"If there's any time for me to have a girl." Sasuke followed up abruptly before Naruto could process any further, changing back into cold Sasuke with vengeful eyes "But my revenge comes first."

"That is so you." Naruto said flatly and Sasuke said nothing in fear that he'd slip his tongue yet again. Then maybe if he kept quiet, Naruto would get the message and leave him so that once again, he might adore his lovely Haruno Sakura. But, no, Naruto did not leave. He kept on talking much to Sasuke's dislike.

"I know you don't like long conversations but I really don't have anyone to talk to so..." Naruto stopped to check on Sasuke and when he did not answer, he went on, "... Anyway, you don't have to listen or respond. Just let me keep talking

"Like you even have to tell me that." Sasuke muttered.
"Hey, that's Sakura-chan over there." Naruto gasped and he lifted his right hand, motioning to stand up and call her if Sasuke had not grabbed him back and said, "Don't call her."

"Geez, Sasuke-teme." Naruto pouted, "Sakura-chan is a very nice girl as she is lovely. You don't have to show me you don't like her. She loves you so much and goes to so much trouble for you and the least you can do is be nice to her."

Sasuke wanted to tackle Naruto, shake him and tell him how much he wanted to do something far more intimate that just being nice. But the Uchiha was aware of how Naruto would yap out and spoil his every thought, moment and up-coming moments to stare at Sakura and adore her deep in his heart.

"Man, Sasuke-teme, I really liked Sakura back then, you know!" Naruto was still pouting, looking at Sasuke in reprimand, "I'm not saying I don't like having Hinata especially after falling for her when I saw her in the water... But back then, I really liked her. I really, really liked her and you... You bad, bad Sasuke just treated her like... like... Like she was just some other person who... who... who..."

"You will regret this, Sasuke-teme! Someone will court Sakura-chan and by the time you realize you like her, she'd have fallen for him and all you can do is watch them kiss under the moonlight and... AAAAAAAAH!!"
That was it. He could not imagine Sakura kissing anyone else. Sasuke shouted and tackled Naruto, wrestled him and they began rolling on the roof until they fell off the edge and plunged with a splash into the pond below. The image of Naruto's every word etched firmly in his head as if to torture him. He could see Sakura holding hands with some other guy and they stood face-to-face to go into a kiss. And in the background, there he was in a black suit... playing the violin. How disappointing! The disturbed water remained so until two wet heads popped out, Sasuke with a lily pad and Naruto with a carp.

"What the hell was that for, Sasuke-teme!" Naruto pointed wildly at Sasuke who was breathing heavily, trying to erase the image of him playing the violin. The Uchiha's arm extended, grabbed Naruto by the shirt and said, "You... have... no idea...!" That was all and the Uchiha disappeared in a puff of smoke.

~*~

"Sasuke-kun, what happened to you!" Sakura gasped upon seeing Sasuke dripping wet from head to foot. Right there and then, Sasuke wanted to either melt or bang his head on the balcony. He had been thinking of kissing Sakura so badly that he reappeared in front of her and Ino looking like a total bastard with a lily pad on the head.
Burn this balcony now. Someone burn this balcony NOW.

"Let's get you dry." Sakura said, removing the lily pad on his head. She took Sasuke's hand and looked at Ino who simply nodded before Sakura led Sasuke inside. She took him to her room where she made him sit on the bowl in the bathroom as she rummaged for a towel. Sasuke was looking on his wet trail from the room's door to the bathroom when Sakura came in with a towel.

"What happened?" Sakura said again. Sasuke didn't answer. She put the towel on his head and looked at him only to see him looking at her.
"What?" She asked.
"Nothing. Never mind..."
Sakura raised an eyebrow but did not insist further and said, "Take off your clothes, Sasuke-kun."
"WHAT!" Sasuke blasted red and Sakura gasped in surprised.

"Well, I didn't mean in front of me!" Sakura said blushing, "Take off your clothes and... use the towel to cover up... Urm... I'll be outside. Call me when you're done, ne?"

Sasuke nodded and Sakura went out of the bathroom, leaving Sasuke alone. He sighed and began to undress himself. The image of Sakura with another man replayed in his head and he shook it off. Damn, Naruto! Didn't have to feed him too much!

But what if... No. Sasuke shook his head. No, not another man. Sakura liked him. Sakura liked him. It should stay that way. He should reciprocate her feelings in a way she'd like. But what if she... What if they... Then the scene of another man lifting Sakura's face into a kiss and him in the background playing the violin shot through his head. And in his anger and disappointment, he shouted, "NO! SAKURAAAAAAAA!"

"Sasuke-ku... OH!" Sakura opened the door quickly and found Sasuke only close to finishing wrapping the towel around his waist. She turned around and closed the door, running into the room with her voice trailing off, "I didn't see anything, Sasuke-kun!"

Sasuke felt heat entering his cheeks as he looked at the partially open door. He finished the towel and peeked through the door to find Sakura under a blanket on her bed. He tilted his head, opened the door and walked towards her without a sound. She wasn't moving and Sasuke assumed she could not feel him close by. The Uchiha thanked his talent for this stealth as he bent down and whispered, "Sakura."

"I didn't see anything, Sasuke-kun! I didn't see anything!"
"Sakura."
"I swear, Sasuke-kun! It was all an accident... b-b-b-b-but I didn't see anything!"
"Sakura...!" A little louder this time as Sasuke gripped her arm.

The girl gasped from under the blanket and her head slowly popped out. And as soon as Sasuke saw her, he released her and sat down beside her.

"Sa-Sakura, there's... so... something..." Sasuke began in stutters, "...Something... I need to tell you..."
Sakura was blinking at him dumbly as a silent invitation for him to continue what he was supposed to say. But somehow, the more Sasuke pushed himself to say it, the more it pulled itself in. By and by he was feeling stupid.

"Sakura..."
"Yes?"
"I..."
"Yes?"
"I..."
"You...?"
"I... I lo..." Sasuke gulped, "lo... I lov..."

Sakura's inner self was fuming with excitement. She was feeling what he was trying to say but she didn't want to spoil the moment.

This is it! Sasuke-kun!!

She was supposed to be demure... to be shocked... when he tells her... When he tells her...

But Sasuke didn't say anything. Instead, he took her gently by the shoulders and drew her closer... Closer to his lips. He could feel his heart thumping, his trembling but he forced himself to relax.

This is it... I'm finally... going to... kiss...

"SASUKE-TEMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!"

Sasuke's face flushed red. The moment he heard Naruto scream out his name while barging in, his hands did its seals and he disappeared in a puff of smoke, leaving a very disappointed Sakura with a baffled Naruto in the room.

~*~
"Sasuke, what happened to you??"

Sasuke looked and beside him was a white-haired Jounin holding an orange book. The Uchiha gritted his teeth upon realizing that his shock made him reappear on the rooftop he was on earlier.

"Sasuke, what happened? You're going to catch a cold up here... wearing just a towel like that."
"Shut up, Kakashi-sensei."

And Sasuke sneezed.

Damn it.

+ Either You Admit It Or... +

"NO!" Sasuke's voice echoed through the garage as he yelled at Naruto who was hugging his right leg.
"Come on, Sasuke-teme. Please!"
"NO!" Sasuke glared and declined even louder.
"I promise, Sakura-chan will never know about it!"

Sasuke stopped with a trace of embarrassment and irritation. His right eye twitched and his face began to flush as he bit his lower lip, contemplating on how to deal with Naruto.

"Stop saying that!" Sasuke glared again.

Naruto sniffed a bit and the next thing Sasuke realized was a naked blonde girl hugging him and saying, "Onegai, Sasuke-kun...!"

"AND STOP DOING THAT!" Sasuke blasted again, trying to push Naruto off him.
"I can try and change into Sakura-chan..."
"Shut up and get off me before someone sees or I'll dismantle you!!"

Naruto changed back into being Naruto again as he taps his foot impatiently. He stared at Sasuke for moments and moments more until the Uchiha boy got irritated and asked, "What!"

"You have three options." Naruto began, "Either you admit you like Sakura-chan, tell me who it is you really like or else..."
"Or else what..." Sasuke's eyes narrowed.
"Or else I'll tell Sakura-chan that you..."
"You even think of doing anything I don't like and I'll..." Sasuke advanced forward to grab Naruto when the loud-mouthed Genin began to shout.
"SAKURA-CHAAAAAAN, SASUKE-TEME IS......!!"

Sasuke lunged and tackled Naruto on the floor, grappling him to muffle up anything he'd try to say. There were a couple of threats, curses and ouches until the two finally came to a pause by the wall.

"Ad...mit it... Sasuke-teme!" Naruto said gruffly.

"Naruto-kun! What are you doing to Sasuke-kun!" Sakura's voice blasted from behind them and a knuckle found itself pounded on Naruto's head. The Kyuubi vessel uttered an elongated tone of pain as he shoves Sasuke away and sits up.

"You are such a violent woman, Sakura-chan!" He looks at Sasuke who was getting up and dusting himself, "And you have a bad choice in men!"
"NANDETTE!!" Sakura fumed and Naruto suddenly thought she grew a bit larger... Scarily larger.

"Sakura." a flat voice came from behind and all eyes turned to see a white-eyed long-haired young man standing at the gate of the garage.
"Oh, Neji!" Sakura exclaimed. Naruto grunted as Sasuke watched him get up.
"Let's go." Neji said lowly and slightly turned away. Sakura gasped and trotted towards him, waving to Sasuke and Naruto.

"Ne, Sakura-chan, where are you going?" Naruto asked in apparent curiosity.
Sakura paused half way towards Neji and turned to Naruto and Sasuke and muttered, "Urm... Just around the corner."
"Sakura." Neji called again, his voice from beyond the gate.
"Coming, Neji!" Sakura smiled at Naruto and Sasuke, waved one last time before hurrying off to follow Neji.

Sasuke and Naruto stood silent for a while, blinking at the spot where Neji and Sakura had been standing. Naruto grunted and looked at Sasuke who seemed to be thinking about one thing or another. It was then that Naruto broke the ice and said, "Let's go follow them."

"What makes you think I'll do that?" Sasuke pouted and turned to go.

"Hard-headed pipsqueak!" Naruto spat out before grabbing Sasuke by the wrist and running out of the garage.

~*~

They were in a hall with doors lined up on each side. They had followed Neji and Sakura into this building, which seemed to be the room Neji was renting. They were sure that Neji and Sakura went into this building and were on this floor but they were not sure which room they were in.

"Why are we doing this?" Sasuke whispered towards Naruto who did not answer. Instead, he crossed towards the other side of the hallway and waved at Sasuke as a gesture to follow, which he did quietly.

"Tell me why we're doing this." Sasuke whispered again with irritation in his tone. He never wanted to ask things twice, let alone thrice so when Naruto didn't answer, Sasuke straightened a bit with a frown and opened his mouth to ask again. But even before any sound could escape his lips, Naruto, who was veering from the wall, motioned him to look. Sasuke's head slowly popped out and saw one of the doors open from where Neji's head came out. He looked around before completely stepping outside and out came Sakura.

"Arigatou, Sakura." Neji was saying now.
"That's all right, Neji. I've got nothing better to do anyway."
"I wouldn't know what I'd do without you." Neji replied.

"Hontou?" Sakura laughed and winked, "Let's just hope Tenten doesn't find out about what we're doing." That was all and Neji nodded, Sakura trotted away. The Hyuuga then looked around one last time before retreating into his home.

"I KNEW IT!" Naruto snapped and sat down on the floor.
"Huh?" Sasuke blinked at Neji's door.
"I knew it, Sasuke-teme!" Naruto exclaimed again, crossing his arms across his chest, "Neji is having an affair with Sakura-chan!"

"WHAT!" Sasuke's voice raised definitely and his eyes widened, his body language showing his full surprise as he shifted to face Naruto. Naruto pulled Sasuke down on the floor with him and motioned him to keep quiet.
"Are you nuts? What are you talking about!" Sasuke was glaring at Naruto, not wanting to believe what the blond loud mouth was saying, "Neji already has Tenten!"

"Exactly! That's why they're hoping 'Tenten doesn't find out about what they're doing'!!" Naruto reasoned.
Sasuke's shoulders dropped slowly as he analyzed the situation in his head. He was disappointed at both Neji and Sakura. He was very disappointed. He felt like he was betrayed. He wanted to walk up to Neji and ask him if it were true but if it were true, Neji would never admit it.

"But... But..." Sasuke muttered, his thoughts in a mess as his eyes moved shiftily. Then he shook his head saying, "I... I don't understand." Then Sasuke bit his lip and gained composure before standing up, "This is nonsense, Naruto. We have no say in this. Let's go."

Sasuke walked away. Naruto shrugged and followed.

~*~

The day had passed. He knew he said it was nonsense and that they had no business with it, Sasuke could not help but feel very annoyed. He was mad at Neji and disappointed at Sakura. All through the day, Sasuke was very grumpy. He did not speak to either Sakura or Neji and had been avoiding them the entire day. Neji and Tenten were still in a relationship. It still remained to be obvious. But he also noticed Neji sending Sakura glances, Neji talking to Sakura, Sakura laughing while talking to Neji and if there's one thing that Sasuke knew about the situation, it was that HE DIDN'T LIKE ANY OF IT.

It was already midnight and Sasuke still had his eyes peeled. The thoughts of Neji and Sakura deprived him of any sleep as an inexplicable irritation surged within him. He lay on his bed wide awake as he stared at the ceiling. Finally, he got up and decided to go out for some fresh air. He flung the window open and leapt onto a thick tree branch where he sat. It was then that he saw shadows moving from the window below. With his curiosity piqued, Sasuke shifted and swung, hanging upside down from the tree.

"Neji,no..." Sasuke heard Sakura say.
"I... I'm sorry, Sakura..." Neji's voice was low but unlike his usual tone, "It's so hard to have to see each other like this."
"No, no... It's all right." Sakura again.

"Sakura, promise me nobody will know." Neji in a soft voice, "Besides, Tenten mustn't find out about this yet."
That was all Sasuke needed to hear. He swung back on the tree branch and leapt into his room. He was very angry. He was mad at Neji. He was so mad he decided to confront Neji. But as Sasuke started towards the door, something hit him: Why was he mad at Neji? Sasuke lingered... and then Naruto's words came back.

Either you admit you like Sakura-chan, tell me who you really like or...

Sasuke felt his heart skip a beat and he retreated his steps towards his bead. His mind went into a lunge of thoughts as he slowly sank into sitting on his bed.

Could he be jealous?

But even though he was jealous of the secret relationship Neji and Sakura were having, he had no right simply because he had no relationship with Sakura except for as a friend. Sure, he knew Sakura liked him and everyone knew that but he never reciprocated his feelings for her. He had gotten so used to her being there that he didn't think she'd leave him. And now that he found out she had been seeing Neji, he was devastated.

From that night on, Sasuke became edgy. He did not want to see, work with or speak to Neji. He avoided Sakura quite much. And whenever he would see Tenten and Neji together, he would look for Sakura. She seemed like she did not care but Sasuke just knew she was jealous of Tenten. She barely spent time with Ino and the other girls and Sasuke noticed her lack of sleep. Tenten and Neji were together during the day so the only time Neji could make for Sakura was at night. And if Tenten ever finds out, she's going to be so mad, she could kill the both of them with her weapons.

Sasuke was lacking sleep, too. One night, he decided to stay out in the forest to reflect and meditate when all of a sudden, he heard soft noises... and then voices. His eyes snapped open, hid and listened. It was then that he realized that the voice was familiar.

"Are you sure she's already asleep?" Sakura's voice.
"Yes, she'll never think we're here." Neji's voice.

Together again! Sasuke's eyebrow twitched in irritation. Slowly he peeked and he did not like what he saw. There was Sakura standing before Neji whose arms move to give the pink-haired girl a tender embrace.

"NEJIIIIIIIIIIII!!" Sasuke could help himself no longer. He leapt out of the bushes and lunged, yelling at Neji. The pair gasped in surprise and Neji reacted a bit too late. Sasuke tackled him on the ground and hit him with his fist. Neji kicked him off and got up.

"What is the matter with you, Uchiha!" Neji yelled.
"I should be asking you that!" Sasuke glared angrily, activating the Sharingan making his red eyes dominant in the dark, "How dare you treat Sakura-chan this way!"
"What are you talking about!" Neji reacted with his Byakugan.
"Admit it! You've been seeing Sakura behind Tenten's back!
"Wha... What...!" Neji's head backed, his Byakugan deactivating, "How did you..."

"You've been seeing her every night! How dare you give Sakura-chan second best treatment!" Sasuke's voice was raising definitely as he gritted his teeth, "I never treated her that way! What makes you think I'll let you get away with treating her like that! Sakura-chan deserves better! She's not second best! I never... I... I never treated her second best! She was... She is... I... I... Sakura-chan is... I never told her but I..."

"Sasuke-kun, you've got it all wrong. I was teaching Neji how to dance as his anniversary gift for Tenten."

"I know, Sakura-chan, that's why I wa--- What?" Sasuke blinked dumbly, his red eyes diminishing as he straightened, looking at Sakura.

"Tenten always dreamt of dancing under the stars but the problem was, I didn't know how to dance." Neji explained, walking towards Sasuke, "So I asked Sakura to teach me so that I could surprise Tenten. What's with you getting all the wrong ideas?"

"Oh..." Sasuke said lowly, looking dumbly at Sakura as the recklessness of his act dawned on him. He felt stupid for letting Naruto and the situation get the better of him but he also felt incredibly relieved. Sasuke smiled and began laughing, earning him weird looks from the other two, "Dancing! So that was it? You were just having dance lessons?"

"Yes. What the hell is wrong with you, Uchiha? It's not like you to act recklessly like this." Neji raised an eyebrow and Sakura nodded saying, "It's something Naruto would do."
"Anyway, I have to go." Neji said, looking at his watch, "It's time for my shift at the watch tower." Neji paused and said, "So I'll be leaving you two now, all right?"
"All right, Neji." Sasuke muttered, "And sorry for the punch."
"Right, and sorry for the kick." Neji waved and dashed away into the trees.
"Sasuke-kun, where did you get all your ideas about me and Neji?" Sakura asked when Neji was out of sight.
"It doesn't matter." Sasuke looked away.
"Yes, it does. You were so angry that you used the Sharingan."

"I said it doesn't matter. Why do you keep on asking?" Sasuke spoke a little harshly, reverting to his usual state.

"I guess we should go home now." Sakura sighed and began to walk away. Sasuke blinked, noticing the small disappointment in her eyes as she started off. To his reaction, his hand landed on her wrist to which Sakura responded with a gasp as she whipped towards him.

"I... uh..." Sasuke muttered lowly, hiding his pink cheeks, "I'll take you home."
"Nani?" Sakura blinked, "No, it's okay, Sasuke-kun, you don't have to. I ca---"
"I said I'll take you home! Are you deaf?" Sasuke pouted, his face going redder as he took Sakura by the hand and marched away saying, "Don't make me say it again! You're acting like Naruto!"

Mga matang nakatingin
Araw-gabi'y nagmamasid
Mga labing sumasambit
Mga salitang masasakit

Mga taong may isip
Ngunit hindi makaintindi
Mga problemang tinatakasan
Ngunit parating nandiyan

Gusto kong kumawala
Gusto kong tumakbo
Gusto kong lumipad
At magpakalayu-layo

Ano pa'ng nandidito?
Ano pa'nt hinihintay ko?
Patuloy na nag-aabang
Sa nakapinid na pinto.

Katapusang hinihintay
Hindi sa akin ibinibigay
Mga matang di matuyo
Patuloy pa ring itinatago

Tinitiis lahat ng hindi pag-unawa
Sinasalo lahat ng sakit
Sa dulo ng bangin ako'y itinulak
Ayaw ko man pero pilit kumakapit

Saan pa ako pupunta?
Kanino pa ako tatakbo?
Sino pa ang kakalinga
Sa buhay na puro gulo?

Wag na sanang dumating ang bukas.
Matapos na sana lahat ngayon.
Pakawalan na ang aking isipan
Sa walang hanggang panaghoy.

+ Escape +

Take me away and help me escape.
I'm running, running away.
Fleeing desperately from the shadows.
Kneeling, crying, bent and down...

Force me away from this life
And take me to somewhere safe
I do not think I will gamble again
Where life's at the table and up as a bet

I close my eyes into the darkness.
I open my eyes and see no difference.
For in the crowd, for with these eyes,
I look around and see nothing... nothing.

In my already clouded mind I search
I walk, I trudge into its halls
Winding and twisting unendingly seeming
I catch my breath in a life so unforgiving.

Fingers so nimble, fingers so light
A battered body and a mind so tired
A soul that's alone, a ghost that's shy
Help me escape this unwilling life.

+ Rainbow +

Once upon a time, it rained. And in the midst of the downpour was a little girl with her little red umbrella and her school uniform of checkered black and white skirt and ribbon on a white sailor-collared blouse as she stood in front of a house with weathered paint, a screened door and capiz windows. Thoughtfully she stood, the umbrella dripping from the raindrops that fell soundly on its surface. Her eyes lifted to the trees, catching view of a nest with the mother bird tending to its offspring.

What if flood takes the nest? What if it rains harder? What if the tree topples down? Who's going to protect the little birdies?

How odd... I wonder where the father is...

Once upon a time, it rained. And in the midst of the downpour was a sixteen-year old girl with black umbrella as she stood in front of a colorless room with shutters hanging off the windows, a door with no knob and santan plants lining the front. Thoughtfully she stood with the umbrella barely able to shield her from the raindrops as she trembled and held onto the handle tightly but unstably.

Where did I go wrong? What did I do? What didn't I do? What do I do now? Don't I deserve anyone better at all? Is no one going to protect me?

And had it not been raining, there would be something because raindrops never come from the eyes.

That's it... I'll never fall in love again.

Once upon a time, it rained. And in the midst of the downpour was a running eighteen-year old girl who had no idea on where to go. She ran about, not minding her feet landing on pools of water from which black colored water sprinkled towards her. It stained her socks, she was wet and her feet were getting tired. But it was not a problem, not even part of the bigger problem that she could not find a way out of.

What happened again? Why did I do it again? What do I do now? Where should I go? Whom should I talk to?

It's over even before it began.

The eyes don't lie, at least for her. And before the mirror she stood, looking and touching the face of the other person beyond the glass that doesn't lie.

Stop crying.

Yet somehow she could not wipe those tears away.

But time passes by and there are things that we learn to live with. And the passing of the seasons do away with our feelings and though there are things we do not understand much, what we know is that we live for some reason because we are never here for nothing… or for no one.

Me...? I've always hated the rain until there came a time that it rained again. Yes, once again, once upon a time it rained and under the roof of a house I stood looking thoughtfully at the sky. The drops fell and dripped about the ledges. And I held myself as I felt a little cold and I sneezed then an umbrella came and as I looked behind me, I saw the smile that I loved so much and the eyes that told me everything to make me feel better.

It's raining again. Come inside.

And as I shifted, my eyes caught view of a nest with the mother bird tending to its offspring. For a moment I wondered but told myself that there was nothing to worry about. Birds never build nests in places where the flood goes after all.

+ S>+10 Quadruple Critical Life +

Oo, alam ko, corny to pero, crap! Bahala kayo! Trip ko at blog ko to!! HAHAHAHA!
Born from my overexposure to Philippine Ragnarok Online, the internet and my blog, this is supposed to be a song... that I'm not singing. And you can't make me!! *flees*

In the middle of the road,
I strut and sit.
In the middle of the road,
I wait.
In the middle of the road,
I stop and stare.
In the middle of the road,
I blink.

Somehow I can't get rid
Of this thing I have right now.
And for some good reason,
Would you like
A +10 Quadruple Critical Life?

Because I'm tossing, turning, tumbling around
Into lots of messes I can't get out of.
I know it's dumb but who would like
A +10 Quadruple Critical Life?

There's a winding road and a sky that's dark.
There's a frowning prof and a failing mark.
There's a crowd with skeptical pairs of eyes.
And they're all staring at my critical life.

Because life is not a click away
And there's no reason why it's so.
So if you want to help just type my name
And save me before I go insane!

In the middle of the road,
I stop and stare.
In the middle of the road,
I blink.
In the middle of the road
That they call Life
I continue to sing this song of mine.

This will undergo changes. I had fun writing it. Anyway, I don't have any +10, quadruple or critical anything in PRO. But I do have a life... a +10 quadruple critical life. ^^

+ My Kitsune Mask +

My face behind the darkness
Small light passing through
Little air and more sweat
With barely enough room to move

Speaking muffled words
With thoughts behind the mask
Answers are never found
For questions I can't ask

Red, white, yellow and blue
Tears, laughter, frowns and smiles
Here is life in all its hues
But somehow it isn't right

+ Snippets From A Lonely Corner: Untitled Poems +

I never thought I could write so many stanzas in such a short time. But I guess the intensity of my sadness paved a way for me to release the tension somehow.

There was an on-going class then but then again, my tears did not want to go to class.

-----------

To think I cried
To think I cared
To think I held onto
Something that wasn't there

That all his time
Had all been lies
Makes me crumble
And brings tears to my eyes

The world just passes
And no one cares
Like a shadow of nothing
And a ghost that was never there

~~~
Fingers so nimble
Reach out to the mask
Shade off my tears
Be part of the past
Ever so strong
Yet ever so weak
Break down the walls
Of a stronghold so meek
Strengthen me once
But weaken me twice
The lost thoughts in me
Claims sight from my eyes
~~~

Locked in a maze I created
Defeated by a monster I conjured
Loved something that I always hated
From an elixir that can not cure

Hidden in a thicket so obvious
Pouring more than what's inside
The pain will sting so continuous
From the tears that can not hide

Ignored by the eyes that care
Released by the hands that touch
Love this unforseen pain
With a beauty twice as much

~~~
Gentle wrath inside of me
Screaming to break free
The scythe of life and kiss of death
Owned by no one else but me
It stings my mind and eats my soul
In a torment never ending
Unheard prayers and dry tears wept
From a life so unforgiving
~~~

Lost in my thoughts
The labyrinth of my mind
Seeking out answers
And silence I couldn't find

A short time of solitude
A long time of pain
An hour's worth of pleasure
And moments of disdain

The irony of life
Is never understood
Songs, riddles and rhymes
And words of a broken fool

~~~
I caught a monster and set it free
I ignored an angel coming to me
I laid myself on a funeral pyre
And cried at the warm-cold fire
Shift the masquerade from face to face
Look at the moon on a noon day
Never again be trapped by enthrallment
By beauty that was never there
~~~

Feathers from an angel fall
Lost in the wonder of it all
Behold the loss of a thing of beauty
And be stinged with a curse for eternity
It took forever to form in me
But only split seconds to break it
A moment it's there, later it's not
A handful of memories they all forgot

~~~
I held on to something
I thought was strong
I looked at something
That wasn't there at all
I treasured you dearly
I never thought of leaving
And in the darkness I stayed
Not knowing you're not there
You were beauty in my eyes
Cloaked in all those lies
For moments you made me believe
And see things that could not be
~~~

Clingning on to something
That I thought was there
Longing for a touch
That I thought had cared
Vision clouded by tears
Full of lies in all these years
Fake smiles drawn on a mask
Muffle questions I want to ask
Cloaked in a quilt of lies I wove
Finding warmth in a blanket of snow
Taking it wholly - blow by blow
To hide the things I should not know

~~~
It was right before me
But I chose not to see
It came to the light
But I closed my eyes
It tugged me to believe it
But I shove it away
It told me I should leave it
But I still chose to stay
And now that it stung me
Who is there to blame?
The eyes that would not see
Or a dream that wanted to stay?
~~~

It greeted me with a smile
I never knew how much it cost
It opened its arms to me
That time when I was lost
I found a cozy home in you
I thought it would last long
But now that I have seen the truth
The pain indeed is strong
My eyes could see but I blind them
I could hear but did not listen
The truth of it was before my eyes
But I chose to cover it in lies

Gray

"How does it feel?" Itachi muttered to her. She didn't say anything though as she stood beside Itachi looking at Konoha, a bit more destroyed than when she left it. But the wind was still the same.

"Returning to Kono-"

"I am not returning." Sakura cut whatever it was he was going to add if indeed there was something he was going to add. She spoke but was not looking at him. It was very unlikely of her. Itachi did not reply. That was likely of him.

"We're here for...""Naruto and the Kyuubi. I know." She said again, eyes not lifting from the village."How long do you plan on cutting me off?" Itachi spoke but Sakura could not trace if he was annoyed or simply asking.
"Oh." She replied half a giggle. It was only then that she turned to Itachi, a small smile on her face as she said, "I am sorry, Itachi but...You just said nine words. That is unusual."

"Hn." Only Itachi's eyes moved as he shifted his gaze from Konoha to Sakura. He was looking at her weirdly. Had he been with Kisame, this conversation would have not taken place. Now he felt like being in the Sasori-Deidara relationship only without talking about art and beauty and Sakura not saying "Yeah" after everything she says.

Sakura looked at Konoha. It was this time that the town was quiet and the nin made their rounds and Naruto would be at Ichiraku's for his night meal. Tsunade would be drinking her sake by now and Shizune reprimanding her of many things to be done.

It was this time that Orochimaru attacked, that same time Ino got her injury. And... yes, well, something was significant about this time. Maybe it was...

"Sakura." Itachi's voice cut through her thoughts as she randomly scanned Konoha.

"Hn?" she responded; her eyes darting towards randomly and her head snapping towards Itachi. She had not been paying attention due to her random thoughts of the town. Stupid memories. She was expecting the Uchiha prodigy to be looking at her flatly but no. Instead, she saw the back of his head. He was looking somewhere.
And there in the thick forest that surrounded Konoha was the giant snake Sakura had always dreamed of beheading.

Itachi did not say anything. He stopped for some moments before looking at Sakura who was trying hard and in vain to keep a straight face and drape a poker face. But Itachi did not need the Sharingan to tell that she was in a vengeful rage. Her emerald eyes shone and she was gritting her teeth for sure. She was not speaking but Itachi knew she was cursing.

Good-for-nothing, worthless piece of... Sakura's mind was raging as she saw the snake. That monster, that hideous creature... He had caused all this. He was the reason for everything she had become now. That... That thing! That snake!

Not that she was regretting where she was now. She was powerful, oh, yes, she was. But everything else... every vengeful bit of her wants a piece of Orochimaru. She will make him pay. Pay dearly - long and painful - yes, she will. And she will make sure she enjoys every moment of pain and agony she begets in his eyes. And she will have the glory of looking upon those eyes...

Dark eyes.

Obsidian eyes.

Eyes like...

"Sakura."

"What!" she blasted at him and his eyes grew a bit wide, his head darting back very slightly. And at this, Sakura's angry features softened and her shoulders dropped, her fingers loosened.

"This is..." Sakura looked at the lofty snake advancing towards Konohagakure who was busily taking arms. The genin, the chuunin, the jounin, the ANBU - heck - Tsunade will be there.

"This day is... Interesting." She said as her pink hair flew in the wind.

Right.

It was this time of day that Sasuke left.

Splinters

Sasuke, being the nukenin he was, was a light sleeper so it was common for him to be awoken by the softest of sounds let alone an approaching chakra. And it was no ordinary chakra. It was strong. It was dominant. And he did not know to whom it belonged. His Sharingan activated as if automatically. With this, he leapt out of bed and sprung with chakra in his feet and hands to suspend his body from the ceiling.

"Oi, oi, what're you doing barging here in the middle of the night?" he could hear Naruto. Could Naruto know this person possessing chakra as strong as this one?
"Don't play innocent on me, Naruto." It was a woman's voice. Older. It was familiar but he could not remember who. Sasuke continued to hold his breath as the woman spoke again, "Tell me, where is Sasuke?"
"Na-Nani?"

"Don't bother. I know." She was saying now. Sasuke got ready for Katon Housenka No Jutsu and a ready strategy in mind if it didn't work. And then, the door broke in, shattered in pieces with the sound of its breakage having Naruto's loud voice as background.

Sasuke's red eyes grew wide in the dark and his shock was almost enough for him to fall off the ceiling. Naruto was still talking but the Uchiha was too surprised to understand what it was he was saying.

"Long time, no see... Uchiha Sasuke." "Oi, not because you're the Godaime Hokage means you can go about breaking people's bedroom doors for no good reason!" Naruto was saying now.

"Apparently, we have to talk. And it will be something very interesting." Tsunade told Sasuke, ignoring Naruto's loud comments about the door, her age, him becoming Hokage and some irrelevant matters.

Sasuke did not want to start a ruckus around Konoha and did not want to make Tsunade consider other options so he came down with his deactivated Sharingan. The Godaime smiled as if to say, "Good choice." And Sasuke smirked the way he always used to.

"It would be pointless telling you what happened to Sakura because I know Naruto told you." Tsunade said, walking in as Sasuke followed her with his eyes. "I heard my name! Were you talking about me!" Naruto pouted at Tsunade. He was on a lime green shirt, boxer shirts and one slipper on. "Naruto." Sasuke spoke as if telling him how matters were and Naruto straightened, his facial expression changing as he walked into the room as well.

"What do you want?" Sasuke muttered lowly to Tsunade. The Godaime sighed. How outspoken this young man can be! Sometimes it helps, other times it's not. But right now, they had no time so Tsunade reached into her green garb and pulled out something Sasuke could not see properly at first. But then she tossed it towards him and when he caught it, for a second time that night, his eyes grew wide.

"This is..." he murmured. "Right. A fox mask." Tsunade smiled. "A FOX MASK!" Naruto blasted in disbelief. "Being an intelligent and able young man, you should be able to get the message." Tsunade said again, "The identity of the ANBU is never revealed. That is the reason for these masks."
"But the ranks. The rules. The..." Sasuke muttered, his eyes on the mask.

"Since when did you care about the rules Sasuke?" Tsunade cut him off sternly. It had a deeper meaning to it and Sasuke gasped, his eyes lifting from the fox mask to Tsunade. He looked at her with different emotions and in this daze he asked, "What am... I to do?"

"If his first mission is to find Sakura then I will come!" Naruto stomped but stopped short when Sasuke and Tsunade released a short gasp of surprise. They turned to the window and Naruto followed suit. Sasuke could not believe his eyes.

Across Konoha, there in the thick forest that came before the Hidden Leaf Village towered a great giant snake.
And on top of it was undoubtedly someone very interesting.

+ Fixed Another Bug +

For some reason, something went wrong but all thanks to my programming experience and my Kuya Niño (and lots of sites) for my knowledge in html, I was able to fix the bug!! Yaay!! I don't know why that freaking bug suddenly appeared, though. I've been using this skin for quite some time now... Hmm... Even the net has weird phenomenon.

It Begins

Sasuke grunted as he removed his straw hat and put in on a table nearby. He was in Naruto's house. Good thing the dobe had a spare room because if he had to share a bed or a room with him, one of them would not be left alive the morning after. A small nearly invisible smile formed on Sasuke's face for a very short moment.

How annoying... Sasuke was now thinking to himself, the smile waning as he walked towards the window to shut it. Sakura didn't have to chase after Orochimaru like that. Orochimaru! One of the legendary Sannin! She must've been in a total rage for her to forget that. Sakura to go berserk. Sakura, of all people! And he thought she had the most self-control. That girl and her ideas! How clumsier could she get!

Ah, Team Seven. No... Not anymore. What are they now? Team Kakashi? Right. Since he left, it had only been Naruto, Sakura and Kakashi. They were Team Kakashi. Where was he again? Right, he was busy getting power from someone weaker than what he wanted to surpass.

"Shit." Sasuke cursed and clenched his fist as he bit his lip. The mere recounting of his actions made him angry and uneasy. How could he have been so blind - too blind! It wasn't worth the sacrifices in the end! Sure it gained him some power and jutsu. He had grown stronger now, that was sure. But was it enough?

Why did he not listen to Sakura? To Naruto? To Konoha?

Now he had become part of what his brother had become - a missing nin who turned his back on what and who used to look up and care for him. The difference was that Itachi, that depraved man, knew where to get strength, how to get strength and such things. And him... He thought he had grown stronger to lunge at Itachi from the front - face-to-face, what was he thinking! - only to fail miserably.

Sasuke frowned and threw himself heavily on the bed. He stared at the emptiness of the ceiling and for moments more he felt the silence. It had been so long since he had felt stillness in him and he began to wonder when he was going to feel it again. He was hoping to start anew in Konoha but what happens? Sakura had become a missing nin!

Naruto had told him he was not the reason for Sakura to leave. Right. Why would he think that? Sakura had a mind of her own. If she does something, let her handle it. It's her decision. It's her life.

What am I saying?

Sasuke sat up. If it's her life, what on earth is he doing trying to get her back?

Because she does not know what she is doing. She is clouded by anger.

"Silly girl." Sasuke murmured and lay back down. He will find her. He will talk to her. He will knock sense into her head. And he will have to knock her unconscious again if he had to.

But until then, he can not let anything bad happen to her.

And Sasuke's thoughts drifted to sleep.
