Where...! Where is Sasuke!
It was all she could think of when she saw him, Orochimaru - that snake. He was hissing madly with laughter atop Manda, his summon snake. She saw Kabuto and all the other Sound Nin. But where was Sasuke?
Sasuke!
Is it his body that Orochimaru was using now?
Sasuke!
She felt herself close to tears both in anger and in distraught. There were Sound nin here and Konoha nin there. Konoha sent its fastest bird with a message to Sunagakure about the incident. She could hear all the screams, the battle cries, the death cries.
"Where is Sasuke-kun?" Orochimaru hissed and she gasped. Sasuke had left Orochimaru? For a moment her heart stirred in a while of relief. Orochimaru turned his narrow eyes towards her and hissed again. Then it was that jutsu - the jutsu that Orochimaru had used on her and Sasuke during the chuunin exams. And she stood frozen in fear. It was a terrible genjutsu and it can only be broken by disrupting chakra flow by another's touch or inflicted pain on the victim...
... Or maybe another's pain.
It was an earsplitting cry. Sakura snapped back to reality only to see a blond young woman's body flying before
her. She did not know what happened but whatever Orochimaru tried to do to her, Ino caught it.
"INO!" Sakura screamed and in mere seconds, Manda's tail had Ino's body and it coiled around her. Sakura had screamed enough but even before she could do anything, Jiraiya came with Gamabunta and Manda released Ino.
The pink-haired Jounin gasped and caught the motionless body of her friend. The moment she was able to touch her, tears made their way to her eyes. Sakura called and did her medical jutsu but Ino was not responding. Ino's eyes were wide open but they were lifeless... staring far away. And it was this point that Sakura lost herself and she screamed as loud as she could.
And then the next was revenge...
Then blood...
Red...
And then another scream...
"NOOOOOOOOOO!" Sakura shouted as loud as she could as she shot up from bed. She was all sweaty as she looked around, breathing heavily. She had been sleeping between the trees where a long cloth had been smartly crisscrossed to form a web-like basket to sleep on.
"Sakura." A low voice reached her ears and she looked slightly above her. There was a man in a black robe with red flowers and a wide collar.
"It's nothing, Itachi." "Hn." Was all he said and he disappeared with a flick of a leaf.
Yes, revenge and red. Blood. Sharingan.
